Dark Night, Wet Tent...

Good times. Thoroughly worth a tent-night of rainstorms to be able to walk down to an empty beach at sunrise. Except that I did lie awake worrying about hurricanes…. A camping experience almost as scary as being nearly alone on the French River in Ontario… or maybe the Manistee River in Michigan … or that dark night on the Okefenokee Swamp, when my knees were so badly sunburned from canoeing all day that I couldn’t quite straighten my legs...
But I hope to remember that the best things in life aren’t free - They’re scary…and a little painful. ;~`)

fool moon

Our moon is all about reflection and shadows, isn‘t it?  The moon is always out there somewhere, always full.  We just have to wait for it, turn toward it and let some light bounce back.

(Photo taken on April 1, 2007.  Tonight’s moon is too bright and too cold! : )

Sunday Serene Scene

Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, Maine
(tidal river and salt marsh, I believe)
I’m sad to say the photo above is aged twelve years, back to the final of many summers I traveled with family to New England.
And I miss that camera - my first and only 35mm film camera (Not that I don’t enjoy digital… Maybe it’s just the default auto-exposure settings that I long for ; )   Click here for Refuge info.
